ChoraleGUIDE: writing four-part harmony in the style of Bach

Bach chorale worksheets

All the worksheets listed here can be downloaded with the exception of some of the group worksheets. There are also paper copies in the music classroom. Don't just jump in with the later worksheets - you need to have absorbed and practiced the method and made yourself familiar with the voice-leading rules summarised in the Double SLAP and the Harmonic DO's and DON'Ts. Work carefully through the fingerprints resources and associated worksheets, although you will probably want to start trying some of the phrase worksheets well before you have got through all the fingerprints. Finally, remember there are in addition Edexcel past papers to work through - these can be picked up in the music classroom or on Moodle. They cannot be included on this website for copyright reasons.

All worksheets must have an accompanying entry in your logbook. Fingerprint worksheets have individual logs specific to the relevant examples, which must be studied first. Other worksheets have generic logs, which simply require you to note down what went well and badly with your worksheet and, when you have had it marked, a summary of teacher feedback.
